Guide to UCAS Clearing 2024
Our guide to UCAS Clearing explains what it is, how to apply and when, so you can use Clearing to your advantage.
Clearing is an opportunity for prospective students who haven't got into their chosen universities to still get a place once they have their results. It can be used by any student who hasn’t got a confirmed place after results day. Even those who have can release themselves into Clearing if they change their mind.
Clearing dates may vary by a few days every year, but are generally from the beginning of July until mid October. Clearing 2024 opens on 5 July and closes on 21 October. You can do as much research as you like before results day and find courses and universities you’re interested in so you’re ready to call them on the day.
