Tamara's Clearing story 

Tamara went through Clearing to study Psychology

How did you find results day?

When I received my A level results, I wasn't very pleased, I was slightly disappointed.

However, I knew there was something called UCAS Clearing so I went on the website and I signed up immediately. I started looking through various universities that would offer my course, I knew I wanted to study Psychology and I found University of Stirling.

Why did you choose Stirling? 

I applied to University of Stirling because the campus firstly looked really nice and after having spoken to the lady on the phone, she kind of sold it to me in terms of the facilities they offered for my course specifically.

They were very helpful and the lady on the phone took her time to talk to me and she was explaining things over and over again because obviously I was quite panicked at that stage, but it was very helpful and very easy to talk to.

Coming to the University of Stirling has been great for me because I love it here, I really do enjoy living here, it's a completely different environment compared to London.

Do you have any advice for students going through Clearing?

My advice for new students who need to go through Clearing would be to firstly understand that there is a plan B, it's not the end of the world as I thought it was.

Clearing is really not that difficult to go through and it's not there's no stigma attached to it, although some people may think there is, but it's nothing like that and people on the phone are incredibly helpful.
