Course summary
Why choose this course?
Physiotherapists provide care and rehabilitation to people of all ages affected by injury, illness or disability, and are essential members of multi-disciplinary teams within the health sector.
This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to assess and deliver interventions to patients from different backgrounds, in the form of education, exercise and manual treatments.
Students embarking on the BSc Physiotherapy course will have a desire to practice as a qualified physiotherapist upon completion. Physiotherapy is a science-based profession focused on improving individuals’ physical and mental wellbeing, and overall quality of life.
Upon successful completion of this course, which is endorsed by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), you can apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to practice as a physiotherapist. Following this, Physiotherapy will offer a vast range of different career options, in different settings.

- Bespoke Physiotherapy lab and newly renovated 'ward' labs
- Placements providing opportunities in a variety of settings
- Course designed in collaboration with clinical stakeholders, service users and members of faculty
What happens on the course?
Our BSc Physiotherapy course will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to practice within the current healthcare climate. These skills will gradually build throughout your three years of full-time study to develop to be able to practice as an autonomous practitioner upon qualification.
Theoretical and practical teaching is delivered from our friendly, self-contained Walsall campus, interspersed with practice placements within the local area to be able to implement your skills and further your learning in real-life contexts. Across the three years, you will be required to complete a minimum of 1,000 hours of practice placements to fulfil the requirements for registration as a qualified physiotherapist with the CSP and HCPC.
